🤲 What is Embodied Coaching?

Embodied Coaching is a practice for embodied self-leadership, offering space to explore your direct experience, while being witnessed by another in a non-judgmental space.

In this way of relating, you practice noticing and voicing internal experiences aloud, distinguishing between physical sensations (like tingling or tension), emotional states, and the stories or interpretations layered on top.

By regularly engaging in this practice, you can become more aware of relational patterns, reduce reactivity, and regulate your nervous system in real-time — for yourself and others.

These skills are foundational for building trust, clearer communication, and emotional honesty in all areas of life.

"I've integrated NSM tools, protocols, and personal feedback into my coaching practice, and I'm now able to facilitate deeper, more impactful sessions faster than I have done before.”

— Ben Ward, Leadership & Organisational Coach

🙇 What You Will Learn

Skills designed to increase your capacity for self-regulation + emotional resilience are the missing piece from modern-day coaching + therapeutic playbooks.

In this training, you’ll learn nervous-system attuned approaches to space-holding and facilitation. The three core skills we believe are necessary for developing this, and that we’ll teach, are:

1. Regulation

  • Learn ways to regulate your nervous system that are effective and applicable in your coaching and relational practice.
  • Practices and skills to arrive regulated, and to self-regulate and co-regulate over zoom.
  • Develop capacity to notice, voice, and shift your internal state in real-time, and allow space for others to do the same.

2. Presence

  • Tease out what presence is, why it’s important in a coaching/relational context, and how to cultivate greater presence and active listening skills.
  • Build relational depth by learning how to "be with" someone else's experience without needing to fix, advise, or control the interaction.
  • Develop presence to your own experience in relationship, another’s experience, and the shared experience of the dyad or group.

3. Self-Leadership

  • Develop key skills for relational facilitation, including how to direct attention with intention, whilst following what’s alive in the moment.
  • Practice relational dynamics which explore how to stay connected, reflect impact, and create space for authentic connection (even in moments of discomfort).
  • Gain a deeper understanding of facilitation principles, including the power of intention, attention, and structured frameworks for relational practice.

This training is only available to NSM alumni, as we believe a shared language of the nervous system fosters a training arena grounded in depth, safety, and nuance.

🧑‍🏫 What to Expect

The Embodied Coaching curriculum is highly complimentary for those who are already coaches, therapists and relational guides — or those who find themselves drawn to this modality and enjoy holding space for others in personal or professional settings.

The training will be a combination of theory + practice, with around one-third teaching spaceholding skills and two-thirds applied practice.

It will also be an opportunity to lean into your tender edges — leading sessions is a potent arena in itself for identifying internal blocks, tension or areas where there may be room for growth.

This training is only available to NSM alumni (and not the public), as we believe a shared language of the nervous system fosters a training arena grounded in depth, safety, and nuance.

Hear what previous alumni have said about the Relational Dojo Trainings

image
There’s a depth to this work that’s difficult to explain, yet can be felt. What makes this training so impactful is the embodied and relational focus it brings to human connection. I’ve left with a deepened awareness of my self which has positively impacted my own coaching practice, allowing me to take clients further, through authentic, honest and non-judgemental enquiry, receiving and, where necessary, response.

— Pete Craig, Advisor, Coach and Mentor

“I now have more tools in my toolbox - or at least names and a framework for the tools I had. And a new frame for how I want to facilitate, with more experimentation”

— Quinn Fitzgerald, Mission-Driven Founder & Coach for CEOs

"I had experience running structured sessions, but this training profoundly deepened my understanding of how to create safe, spacious containers where participants genuinely connect and feel like they’re part of the group. I'm inspired to keep refining these skills."

— Adam Luck, Somatic Speaking Coach

"I feel newly equipped to facilitate relational and NSM practices. I'm now aware of the depth and potential of these skills, clearly see my areas for growth, and feel inspired to keep improving.”

— Jonathan Coleman, Principal Product Manager

“This training increased my self awareness and relational skills, which has served me tremendously as a therapist and coach, as well as in my day to day life. It took my nervous system to the next level and now I can hold others’ nervous systems with more attunement and confidence.”

— Tessa Carolyn, Rapid Resolution Therapist + Somatic Coach

“These relational exercises provide a chance to embody the nervous system mastery philosophy and live it. I think it's too easy to take courses, absorb the theory, dabble with the practices and then move on. It was bliss to have a reason to prioritise strengthening these new muscles.

— Etta Brown, Chief Operations Officer

“The value of listening and the expansion from being listened to has been immensely valuable. More than that, I am really enjoying people exactly for who they are.”

— Mark Chalmers, Breathwork Facilitator
